Welcome to my personal site!

Throughout my career I’ve worked as a qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-methods researcher in education, health, technology, business intelligence. My work has consistently focused on assessing and measuring people’s needs, especially in social contexts.

I particularly enjoy conducting research that digs deeply into social factors, and have worked in areas like virtual reality, group development, music and digital audio, socioacoustic aspects of language, creative work, and learning. I love to read about and do work that describes how people construct their own understanding of the world and their place in it, and how groups foster inclusive and adaptive communities.

Currently I’m contracting as a UX researcher with Meta Reality Labs, , supporting the development of novel interfaces with user experience research. I conduct end-to-end user research, and define key research questions, gaps, pain points, and business goals in partnership with Design, PM, and Engineering teams.

Check out a smattering of my projects on my Projects tab.

Ultimately, I’m looking for a role that includes work bridging theory, strategy, and practice; has an impact on people’s lives; involves deep collaboration with smart and motivated people; and has a strong quantitative or measurement element to it. I’ve worked as a generalist in a few different areas, and I’d be particularly interested in doing more work on these topics:

  • Learning processes
  • Professional development
  • Social and emotional health
  • Inclusivity and culturally sustaining practices
  • Program evaluation
  • Group dynamics or communities of practice

If it sounds like this aligns with your needs, please get in touch!

In my non-work life I’m relaxing and socializing with the family unit, working on various music projects, or playing ice hockey.
